Seller Business Opportunity at IST PVSolar Simulator

Solar is one of the fastest-growing industries in India and beyond. Every rooftop project, every commercial plant and every student learning solar design needs one thing first: a reliable way to design and simulate a PV system. That need creates a steady market for solar software — and a real business opportunity for the people who can bring it to installers, engineers, students and institutions in their own region.

What you will be selling

IST PVSolar Simulator is online solar PV design and simulation software from IST SunPower System. It helps users plan and simulate solar power systems before a single panel is installed.

The people who need it are easy to find:

  • Solar installers and EPC companies who design rooftop and ground-mount systems for clients
  • Engineers and consultants who prepare system designs and proposals
  • Students and trainees learning solar PV design
  • Colleges, training centres and institutions that teach renewable energy

The software is sold as subscription plans. When you sell a subscription, the customer's account is activated immediately with that plan's features for the plan's full period.

Who can become a seller

Any registered member of IST PVSolar Simulator can apply. You don't need to be a large company or a software expert. If you already work with solar customers, teach solar design, or have a network of engineers and installers, you are well placed to start.

Once the IST SunPower System team approves you as a seller, your account gets its own Seller Dashboard. Before your first sale, you read and agree to the Seller Terms & Conditions directly from the dashboard, and can download a PDF copy for your records.

How the seller business works

The model is simple: you buy subscriptions in bulk at a seller price, then sell them one by one to your customers.

  1. Buy subscription stock. From your Seller Dashboard, order several plans at once — for example 5 × one plan and 10 × another. The minimum is 3 subscriptions per plan in an order. The admin confirms your payment and adds the stock to your account.
  2. Find your customer. Your customer registers a free account on IST PVSolar Simulator. You search for them in your dashboard by their registered email address.
  3. Activate their plan. Choose a plan from your stock and click Sell. The customer gets access immediately. You can also change or renew an existing customer's plan the same way.
  4. Track everything. Every sale, change or renewal counts as one subscription sold. Your dashboard always shows how many you purchased, sold and have left, plan by plan.
  5. Restock when needed. When your stock runs out, the dashboard tells you and you simply order more.

You collect payment from your customer directly, on your own terms. The difference between what you charge and what you paid is your margin.

Why it's a low-investment business

Selling software subscriptions avoids most of the costs of a traditional reselling business:

  • No warehouse or shipping. Subscriptions are digital and activate instantly.
  • Start small. You can begin with as few as 3 subscriptions of one plan and grow as your customer base grows.
  • No technical setup. The software, hosting, updates and support platform are run by IST SunPower System.
  • Clear records. Your dashboard keeps a full history of purchases and sales, so there is no manual tracking.
  • Repeat income. Subscriptions run for a fixed period, so satisfied customers come back to you to renew.

Your investment, sales targets, reseller margin and earning potential depend on the seller plan and products you choose. Your earnings grow with your sales volume and customer network.

Who this opportunity suits best

  • Solar installers and EPC firms who can bundle design software with their services, or supply it to partner installers
  • Solar trainers and coaching centres who can include a subscription with every course
  • Engineering consultants with a network of clients who design PV systems
  • Solar product distributors and dealers who already meet installers every day
  • Entrepreneurs and students looking to build a side business in renewable energy

Frequently asked questions

Do my customers need an account?

Yes. Each customer registers their own free account with their email address. You then find them by that email and activate their plan.

How fast does my customer get access?

Immediately. As soon as you sell the subscription from your dashboard, the plan is active on their account.

Can I upgrade or renew a customer's plan?

Yes. Search their email, choose a new plan or the same plan, and confirm. Renewing the same plan extends it from its current end date.

What happens when my stock runs out?

Your dashboard shows "No subscription to sell" and a button to purchase more. Your customers' existing plans are not affected.

Can I sell outside India?

Yes. Seller prices can be shown in many currencies, so you can price for international customers.

Is there a contract?

Every seller agrees to the Seller Terms & Conditions before selling. You can read them and download a PDF from your dashboard at any time.
